Michael Farfan Repeats on All-Big West 1st Team

Irvine, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton's Michael Farfan repeated as a first-team selection to the All-Big West Conference men's soccer squad announced Tuesday by the league office.

The sophomore from Chula Vista was the lone Fullerton representative on the first team but his twin brother Gabriel earned second-team honors for the second year in a row. Honorable mention went to fellow Titans Skyler Thuresson, Matt Sanders and Brent Douglas.

Conference champion UC Santa Barbara swept the individual field player of the year awards -- Chris Pontius offense, Ciaran O'Brien midfielder and Andy Iro defense. UC Davis' Dwayne Shaffer was tabbed coach of the year, UC Riverside's Charles Alamo was goalkeeper of the year and Cal Poly's David Zamora was freshman of the year.
