Irvine, Calif. - Senior Eugene Brooks and freshman Michael Farfan today were selected to the All-Big West Conference Men's Soccer first team and teammates freshman Gabriel Farfan and junior Amir Shafii made the second team.
Michael Farfan also got the nod as freshman of the year from the six Big West coaches. He was the only freshman on the first team.
Brooks leads the conference in scoring with 12 goals and 26 points. His 12 goals tie him for eighth place on the all-time CSF single-season list.
Brad Evans of UC Irvine was picked offensive player of the year with defensive honors going to Andy Iro of UC Santa Barbara and top midfielder went to Matt Murphy of UC Irvine. Kyle Reynish of UCSB and Kenny Shoeni of UCI shared the goalkeeper honors. George Kuntz of UCI was coach of the year.
