Rocky Mountain Test This Weekend for Titans

Sept. 11, 2008

Colorado Springs, CO - Two struggling teams that boast huge home-field advantages await the Cal State Fullerton men's soccer team this weekend as the Titans gain a mile of elevation to play at the Air Force Academy and Denver University.

The Titans, 1-3, face the 0-3 Cadets on Friday in Colorado Springs. On Sunday, they head further north to play Denver, which will take an 0-3 record into a Friday match with San Diego State. Fullerton is coming off an overtime loss to an 0-3 Cal State Bakersfield team.

Air Force lost its first two matches of the season at Big West Conference members UC Santa Barbara (2-1) and Cal Poly (2-0) before losing at home to nationally ranked and unbeaten Loyola-Chicago, 1-0, on a goal with 10 minutes to play. Ryan Robinson has the lone Cadet score.

Denver lost twice in a tournament in Ohio, 3-1 to host Dayton and 2-1 to Wisconsin. The Pioneers also lost last weekend to Loyola-Chicago, 3-2. Colin Jones has 2 of the four Denver scores.

Fullerton is 2-0 all-time against Denver and 2-2-1 vs. Air Force.
