ABOUT THE TIGERS:

Memphis beat Louisville (1-0) and Evansville (2-1) to win its annual Diadora Tournament in Tennessee. Tyler Strom made 11 saves in the two wins. Jared Britcher scored two goals.

ABOUT THE WOLVERINES:

Michigan posted a pair of shutouts, beating Rutgers (3-0) and Hofstra (1-0). Patrick Sperry logged a pair of shutouts in the net. Mauro Fuzetti and Perica Marosevic each scored two goals.

ABOUT THE MATADORS:

Cal State Northridge routed Detroit-Mercy, 6-1, in its opener on Friday. Camilo Rojas came off the bench to score twice. Kevin Guppy and Peter Bomar shared time in the net.

ABOUT THE TITANS:

Fullerton has begun the season 2-0 for the second year in a row. But last season the Titans used a pair of 3-2 wins at San Jose State and vs. Oral Roberts to reach that stage. This year, they have done it with consecutive shutouts of Long Island (2-0) and Detroit-Mercy (1-0). Goalkeeper Brent Douglas has doubled his shutout total of the 2006 season. Seniors German Moreno, Ben Hofstetter and Amir Shafii have provided the scoring.

Fullerton was 2-0 last year when it met Memphis in the Tigers' Diadora Tournament in Tennessee. The Tigers won, 1-0.
