CSF: Mark Nelson was one of only two Titans to start all 20 matches in 2008... Took 21 shots, 6 on goal, and scored once vs. Cal State Northridge on Nov. 5... Made the transition from stardom at the Div. II level to the more competitive Div. I stage with no major problems... The transfer from Humboldt State was an all-regional selection in 2007 for the Jacks... Good feet, good in the air and tough... Highly recruited out of high school... Can play outside or center back.

HUMBOLDT STATE: Started 19 of Humboldt's 20 matches in a 7-12-1 season in 2007... Had 3 assists, second on team, and 17 shots... Selected to the NSCAA/adidas All-Far West Region second team... As a freshman in 2006 he played in 18 matches, 17 as a starter, for an 11-6-3 club... Had one goal - an overtime game winner (3-2) vs. Cal State San Bernardino on Oct. 15 - and one assist.

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year varsity letterman at Temecula Valley High School in Temecula, California... CIF Defender of the Year and Southwestern League Player of the Year for Coach Rob Skinner...
