Cal State Fullerton Men's Soccer Head Coach Bob Ammann Shares His Thoughts on the Titans' 2008 Season

UC Davis and Cal State Northridge

"The results obviously haven't been what we would like, but I have seen improvement. With such an inexperienced group success can't be gauged on results only. We have been working really hard on fixing some of the issues that have kept us from achieving the results that we are capable of. We put together our first multi-goal-in-consecutive-games performances at Davis (No. 7 in the country), 2-2, and at Northridge, 2-3 2OT, this past week and are looking forward to the second half of the conference schedule.

"With the difficulty we have had with scoring goals, we haven't found ourselves leading often. Leading in each of the past two games has changed and affected how we need to think and play tactically. Being chased rather than the chaser is unfamiliar territory for us this season and something that we need to learn and experience. The youth and inexperience that we have been suffering from took on a new chapter and one that we will be able to deal with better as we grow with this group. Learning to win and having the confidence to get it done takes time and something this group is definitely capable of."

UC Riverside and UC Santa Barbara

"We are looking forward to our games this week hosting both UCR and UCSB. Both have come off big wins so will be coming to Titan Stadium with a lot of confidence and looking to build on those results. Our goal is to accomplish in this second half of the league schedule what we failed to do in the first. We have the ability and now three-quarters through the season should have more experience to deal with the challenges we will face. We realize we have a difficult task ahead of us, but we are looking forward to the challenge. "

Go Titans!!!
