Matt Tutton joins the Titans' coaching staff in 2011 as a highlycredentialed volunteer assistant coach... he spent the last twoyears in a similar role at Loyola Marymount, which made the NCAATournament in 2008... in 2006 and 2007 he was the top assistantcoach at Saint Louis University, which made the NCAA Tourney bothseasons... he was heavily involved in all aspects of thenationally-ranked Billiken soccer program, includingrecruiting.
Tutton also is known for his extensive work with the PateadoresSC, where he coached more than a dozen players now performing inthe MLS... at Saint Louis he coached 10 players who would earnNational Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Regionhonors and four who were taken in the Major League Soccerdraft.
Prior to joining the Billikens, Tutton, a native of NewportBeach, was head coach at Santiago Canyon College in 2006... beforethat, he served as women's head coach at Orange Coast College wherehe helped the Pirates to a 24-12-7 record and two playoffappearances in as many seasons... in 2005, the Orange Empire namedTutton Co-Coach of the Year.
His first collegiate coaching position was at Irvine ValleyCollege, where he was an assistant from 2000 to 2003, the latteryear producing the state championship team, which was awarded theNo. 1 ranking by the NSCAA.
Tutton earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Cal StateFullerton in 2000 and earned a masters degree in physical educationfrom Azusa Pacific University in 2004... he also owns an NCSAApremier license in addition to a United States Soccer Federation(USSF) B License.
Tutton recently won a national academy championship with thePateadores.
