The Cal State Fullerton men’s soccer team has added former Claremont Mudd-Scripps College assistant coach Jonathyn Lomeli to its coaching staff as the Head Goalkeeper coach.
Coach Lomeli comes to Fullerton after a two-year stint with the Claremont Mudd-Scripps College program where his main priority was working and developing the goalkeepers to elite standards.
Lomeli played four years at the University of La Verne from 2009-2013 where he holds record for most minutes played in career as a goalkeeper and is top 5 in school’s shutout history. Lomeli also played in the U.S USL/PDL with the franchise Los Angeles Misioneros for three years where he made his debut on July 15, 2010 vs. So Cal Seahorses.
A 2013 graduate from the University of La Verne, Lomeli holds a degree in International Business and Language with a concentration in Spanish along with a USSF ‘D” License and a NSCAA Goalkeeping Diploma 1&2.
“I want to thank George Kuntz, Carlos Aguilar and Kyle Schmid for this incredible opportunity to join the amazing Titan family,” said Lomeli. “I would also like to thank God, mentors and my family that have supported and guided me through my coaching journey. I am very excited and motivated to be with the program and can’t wait to help the Titans towards obtaining huge success as a program.”
