Bolstered by its fifth win in six matches, Cal State Fullerton men's soccer (6-6, 3-1) hosts UC Irvine (7-4-2, 2-2) on Saturday night at 7 p.m. with the winner claiming Orange County bragging rights.
The Titans currently are tied for first place in the South Division of the Big West with No. 10 Cal State Northridge while the Anteaters are a match behind in conference play.
Prior to the contest the 1993 Final Four Fullerton squad will be honored. Match-day activities also include being featured by the organization 5 Rights FC which is dedicated to sustainable rights.
Kickoff: The Cal State Fullerton men's soccer team will try to extend their conference win streak to four on Saturday night against Orange County rival, UC Irvine at 7 p.m. in Titan Stadium. The Titans current win streak, three, ranks second-best in the Big West to UCSB (five) which is leading the North Division. Fullerton and Cal State Northridge are tied atop the South.

Special Events: The Titans will commemorate the 20th anniversary of its "Final Four" appearance at the 1993 NCAA soccer tournament. Members of the program's greatest team,that included women's head coach Demian Brown, will accompany the starting lineup onto the field to be recognized prior to the match start. (Current men's head coach Bob Ammann was an assistant with the team.)
It is national 5 Rights FC (an organization teaming up with collegiate soccer) night as well.
Series Notes: It is a long and storied rivalry between these Orange County squads, with Fullerton having won the most recent match last year, a 1-0contest. While UC Irvine holds the edge in meetings over the past decade and has the series advantage, 19-21-6, total goals scored between teams finds Fullertonhaving netted 80 to the Anteater's 79 which speaks to how close the programs are since 1984 when the teams first met.
Sniffing Out the Anteaters: UC Irvine enters this weekend with a 7-4-2 overall record and a 2-2 mark in conference play, after an agonizing loss to Big West North Division leader UCSanta Barbara in double overtime on Sunday, 2-1.
Offensively, the team is led by Enrique Cardenas and Cameron Iwasa, each with five goals recorded on the season. Cardenas adds five assists for a total of 15points to lead UCI. Defensively, the Anteaters are led by Michael Breslin in goal as the redshirt sophomore has recorded five shut outs, having started everymatch. He sports a 0.95 goals-against average, good for third-best in the Big West.
The Anteaters four losses were to: Xavier, Santa Clara, UC Davis and UC Santa Barbara.
