MIAMI—Former Titan Bobby Reiss earned a spot on the North American Soccer League's Team of the Week after scoring a goal in his second game in a row, helping to guide his Atlanta Silverbacks to the NASL spring championship last Thursday.
For the second straight week, Reiss claims a spot on the team as a defender. He scored the goal that sealed the deal for Atlanta, putting the ball in the back of the net in the 73rd minute of play to make it a decisive 2-0 Silverbacks advantage with just over 16 minutes left to play in a game that would eventually decide the NASL spring championship.
The Silverbacks went on to defeat Minnesota United 3-0 to claim the title.
"Bobby has been tremendous since his inclusion in the line up and even though he may be recognized for his goals, his defensive work has not gone unnoticed by the team," said Silverbacks head coach Brian Haynes. "This is well deserved."
Reiss ends the 2013 campaign with two straight NASL Player of the Week honors after recording two goals in the final two games of the season.
