Titans Earn Exhibition Win Over Alberta
FULLERTON, Calif.—Cal State Fullerton earned its first win of the spring exhibition season by upending the University of Alberta (Canada) by the final of 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Titan Stadium.
Junior Mark Vasquez scored the lone goal of the match, while sophomore Colin Okirie provided the assist. Sophomore Adam Zapeda played the entire 90 minutes in goal, leading the Titans to their first shutout of the spring.
The win brings the Titans to 1-1 so far this spring after they dropped an 8-2 contest to Gangwon FC on Feb. 14. Junior Mark Vasquez and Sophomore Dyllan Stevens each recorded goals, while senior Jordan Wolff picked up the assist on both scores in that game.
Fullerton will resume its spring campaign this Saturday when it takes on Ryutsu Keizai University (Japan) at 9:30 a.m. The Titans will then host San Diego State later that day at 12:30 p.m. before playing Ryutsu Keizai University again Sunday at 7:30 p.m. All games this weekend will take place at Titan Stadium.
