Titans Drop to 6th

April 30, 2012

La Quinta, Calif. - Mark Anguiano had a second brilliant round but even though his teammates were off only a composite three strokes from their Sunday's scores, Cal State Fullerton fell from a tie for second to sixth place Monday after the second round of the 2012 Big West Conference Men's Golf Championships at the PGA West Mountain Course.

Anguiano followed his 3-under 69 with a 4-under 68 to remain in second place among individuals at 137. But the Titans, who scored 290 on Sunday to trail leader Pacific by 8 strokes, fell to sixth with a 292 for a combined score of 582, 12 strokes behind new leader UC Davis at 570. UoP is a stroke behind the Aggies followed by UC Santa Barbara at 573, Long Beach State at 577 and UC Irvine at 579.

Anguiano trails only Alex Edfort (68-68--136) of Pacific.

Other Titan scores: Scott Rubzin (77-72) at 149 and Dakota Duerr (74-76), Ryan Tetrault (73-77) and Corey Gard (74-76), all at 150.

The final 18 holes will be played Tuesday.
