Scott Rubzin shot one under par for the day and the tournament to lead Cal State Fullerton to a fourth-place finish Tuesday at the Kansas Men's Golf Invitational at Alvamar Golf Club.
Rubzin's 71 on Tuesday gave him a 54-hole score of 215, good for fourth place among individuals and 5 strokes better than teammate Ryan Tetrault. Mark Anguiano faded to a 79 to finish at 223 followed by Dakota Duerr and Corey Gard, both at 230. Competing as an individual, John San Juan shot 223.
Rubzin was only one stroke behind the three-way tie for first at 214 by Daily Young of Missouri State, Chris Weninger of Louisiana-Lafayette and David Smith of South Dakota State.
Missouri-Kansas City won the team title with a score of 874 strokes, 10 over par. Second-day leader Louisiana-Lafayette finished second at 876 followed by Missouri State at 878 and the Titans at 883, one stroke better than host Kansas. There were 12 teams in the tourney.
Fullerton's next tournament is the Firestone Grill Invitational in Nipomo beginning Oct. 2.
