FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's golf tees off the 2018-19 season Monday and Tuesday in Colorado at the Rams Masters Invitational hosted by Colorado State.
Matt Wilson - Competed in all 11 tournaments last year while finishing third on the team with an average score of 74.15. Wilson's best finish last season came at the Bill Cullum Invitational where he placed tied for sixth.
Derek Castillo - Competed in all 11 tournaments last year, finishing with the best average score on the team with a 72.61. Castillo's took first at the Bill Cullum Invitational for his first collegiate tournament victory.
Jack Dyer - Comes to Fullerton after spending the last two seasons at Keiser University. Last year Dyer finished with an average score of 72.03 while recording three second place finishes and a first place finish.
Michael Sharkey - Competed in just one tournament during the 2017-18 season. Sharkey earned a 85th place finish at the Bill Cullum Invitational after shooting a 22-over par 238.
Dalton Daniel - Competed in nine of the team's 11 tournaments as a freshman, finishing the season with an average score of 75.56. Daniel's best finish of the year came at the ORU/SFA Spring Break Challenge where he placed tied for 14th.
Format: The 17-team field will be participating in a 54-hole collegiate tournament to be played at the par 70, 7,218-yard Fort Collins Country Club, located in Fort Collins, Colo. Playing in foursomes, the golfers will play 36 holes in a shotgun start on Monday, Sept. 19. Pairings for Tuesday's tee times for the final 18 holes, will be determined by team score. The low four individual scores will determine the team scores for each round.
The Course: Fort Collins Country Club is a Championship caliber, park style golf course. Originally opened for play in 1959, this Henry Hughes designed golf course hosts USGA Qualifiers, State Championships, and Division I collegiate events.
The Field: The Titans are one of 17 teams competing at the Rams Masters Invitational including Colorado State, Denver, Idaho, Illinois State, Long Beach State, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Omaha, Rice, Sam Houston State, Seattle, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Washington State, Wichita State, Wyoming and individuals competitors from Colorado.
