FULLERTON, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton's 2013-14 campaign came to a close on May 17, when the Titans concluded the Sugar Grove Regionals in 11th place at the Rich Harvest Farms Country Club in Sugar Grove, Ill., marking the first appearance in the NCAA Regionals since the program was reinstated in 2009-10. Fullerton earned the postseason berth after clinching its second consecutive Big West Championship at the Soboba Springs Country Club en route to nine top-five finishes in 12 events over the season.

RECOGNITION ON THE LINKS: Mark Anguiano was named the 2014 Big West Men's Golf Player of the Year, as selected by the nine league head coaches. Titan Head Coach Jason Drotter also earned his second-straight Big West Men's Golf Coach of the Year honor.

Anguiano became the first Titan to garner the player of the year accolade, pacing the Big West Conference with a 70.31 stroke average. Over the course of the 2013-14 season, the senior from Whittier, Calif., tallied nine top-five finishes, including two individual medalist honors and a tie for second place at the conference championship.

Also selected on the All-Big West First Team, Anguiano became the first Titan to claim an individual championship at the Folino Invitational, hosted by Fullerton on Feb. 17-18. He was also the only conference golfer to claim the Big West Golfer of the Month honor multiple times, recognized on three occasions for the months of September, February and March. The Golf Coaches Association of America also recognized Anguiano on the 2014 PING All-West Team.

Drotter earned his second-straight Big West Coach of the Year accolade after leading the Titans to nine top-five finishes in 11 events during the regular season.

Joining Anguiano on the All-Big West First Team was Ryan Tetrault and Corey Gard. Tetrault carded six top-10 finishes this season while posting the team's second lowest stroke average of 70.81. The native of Villa Park, Calif., used the Warrior Princeville Makai Invite on Nov. 4-7 to mark both his career best low round of 65 and low 54-hole score of 205.

Gard, also a fellow native of Villa Park, Calif., shot himself to eight top-20 finishes this season, boasting a season-best fifth place at the Bill Cullum Invitational on Oct. 21-22. Gard is currently ranked in the top-five in both career rounds played and top-10 finishes since the reinstatement of the program.

MAKE IT BACK-TO-BACK: Due to high winds and unplayable conditions for the final round of the Big West Championship, the Big West Championship was deemed to be final after 36 holes at the Soboba Springs Country Club in San Jacinto, Calif.

After 36 holes of play between Apr. 27-29, the Titans shot a 1-under-par 287 first round, and held on for their second consecutive title after chalking up a second round 3-over-par 291 while carding a total score of 578 (+2). Fullerton finished two strokes ahead of UC Davis, who claimed the 2011 and 2012 titles.

In the final team standings, the Titans were followed by UC Davis (+4, 580), UC Riverside (+10, 586), Long Beach State (+11, 587) and UC Irvine (+12, 588) to round out the top-five.

Fullerton was the only Big West team to place all five participants in the top-20 on the individual leaderboard. Since Fullerton's reinstatement in 2009-10, the Titans men's golf team has improved in its overall finish in every year at the Big West Championships (2010- Ninth Place; 2011- Eighth Place; 2012- Third Place; 2013- Tied for First Place; 2014- First Place).

Anguiano garnered the individual title ahead of Sacramento State's Owen Tyler and fellow Titan Tetrault after shooting 2-under par 70 on to finish at 12-under-par 204.
