Anguiano Paces Titans to First After Day One of Warrior Princeville Invite

Day One Results

Princeville, Hawaii - Senior Mark Anguiano shot a first round 65 to finish second overall on the day and Cal State Fullerton shot the lowest round of the day to top the leader board after 18 holes Monday at the 2013 Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational at the Princeville Makai Golf Club in Princeville, Hawaii.

Fullerton holds a two-stroke team lead over Mississippi State after the Titans combined to shoot a 16-under par 272 in the first round. The Bulldogs stand in second after posting a 14-under, 274 in the first round. Louisville (-13, 275), San Francisco (-11, 277), and Eastern Tennessee State (-8, 280) round out the top five in team scoring on the 70-par course.

Anguiano finished with his 10th consecutive round at par or better to start the season as his 65 on Monday is tied for the lowest round by a Titan, which he set earlier this year at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate. The Whittier, Calif., native currently stands two shots off the pace of individual leader Chad Ramey of Mississippi State, who ended day one with a 9-under par 63.

Freshmen Kyle De Silva also posted a top-five finish after day one, finishing 5-under par 67. The Villa Park, Calif., native contributed with seven birdies on Monday. Senior Corey Gard and junior Ryan Tetrault finished tied for 21st after both posted a first round score of 70 (-2). Tetrault tallied five birdies and one eagle during the first round. Senior Josh Park shot a 72 (E) and will head into day two tied for 39th place.

Play continues with the second 18 holes on Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. PT. Results will be available on FullertonTitans.com and GolfStat.com as soon as they are available.
