Quartet Suspended for First Three Games

Oct. 30, 2006

Fullerton, Calif. - Four Cal State Fullerton men's basketball players have been suspended for the first three games of the 2006-07 season due to a secondary NCAA rules violation.

Senior Bobby Brown and juniors Curtis Battles, Scott Cutley and Frank Robinson will be sidelined for their misuse of book vouchers during the Spring semester.

Cal State Fullerton self-reported the violation and requested that the three-game suspensions be staggered. However, the NCAA is requiring all four players to miss the first three games unless circumstances reduce the remaining roster to fewer than seven players.

Fullerton opens the regular season at home on Nov. 10 vs. California Maritime Academy and hosts Hope International on Nov. 14 before playing at Texas-San Antonio on Nov. 22. Counting walk-ons, the Titans have 11 other players on the roster, but only one -- Justin Burns -- who was on the active roster last season.
