NBA Veterans Coming Out for Alumni Game

Oct. 21, 2008

Fullerton, Calif. - Three of the greatest players in Cal State Fullerton history, each of whom played in the National Basketball Association, are among the two dozen former Titans who are expected to play in the second annual Alumni Game Saturday at 9 a.m. in Titan Gym.

Cedric Ceballos and Henry Turner played in the inaugural event last year but Richard Morton was a late scratch due to business commitments. Ceballos played 12 seasons in the NBA after a brilliant two-season (1988-89 and 1989-90) career with the Titans that saw him earn honorable mention All-American honors. Ceballos averaged 22.1 points and 10.7 rebounds for his career with 31 double-doubles.

Morton is the No. 3 all-time scoring leader with 1,705 points over a 4-year career (1984-85 thru 1987-88). He played briefly with the Indiana Pacers.

Turner had two stints with the Sacramento Kings after a 4-year Titan career that paralleled Morton's. Turner is the No. 7 career scorer with 1,329 points and No. 5 rebounder with 630. He is most remembered for an assortment of dazzling, rim-rattling dunks.

The supporting cast is impressive: Agee Ward (No. 7 career rebounder), former Harlem Globetrotter Sean Williams (No. 2 in career blocked shots), Eugene Jackson (No. 5 in career assists), Kim Kemp (No.9 in career blocked shots), Gary Davis (No. 11 carer scorer with 1,165 points), Chris Dade (No. 5 career scorer with 1,496 points and No. 2 in career 3-point field goals), Chris St. Clair (No. 3 in career 3-point field goals), Mark Hill (No. 4 in career 3-point field goals), Kenroy Jarrett (No. 10 in career 3-point field goals), Brandon Campbell (holder of numerous CSF track and field records), Wayne Williams (No. 2 in career assists with 537), Marlon Vaughn, David Moody (No.2 in single-season field goal percentage), John Williams, J. D. Green, Greg Vernon, Chris Ceballos, Josh Fischer, Kerry Boagni and Jason Cunningham.
