Canadian Trip Meets All Expectations

Sept. 1, 2008

Fullerton, Calif. - Coach Bob Burton's Comments on Canadian Exhibition Tour:

"We accomplished everything we wanted on this trip.

"Our goals were to take advantage of a chance to travel to a beautiful city in a different country and have our team get together and learn about ourselves as a team both on and off the court.

"Really, it was absolutely a fabulous trip.

"Our goals were to get the team together - to practice and play together and to see a great place. All of those things were accomplished..

"Our first day of Fall practice (Oct. 17) will now be different. We will try to pick up where we left off. We learned a lot about our team and it's given us a good head start on what we need to do. We've got some pretty good ideas of our strengths and weaknesses.

"I was impressed with how hard Papa Guisse played. He will add a lot to it.

"And this trip showed we need to develop more scoring options than Josh Akognon.

"I was really, really happy with the trip and our team's effort. We accomplished exactly what we wanted to do. We have to remember we have nine new players and they were just getting to know each other."
