Anaheim, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton will meet Wake Forest of the Atlantic Coast Conference in its opening game of the 2008 Anaheim Classic men's basketball tournament which will be broadcast in its entirety on ESPN2 and ESPNU on Thanksgiving Weekend at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The Titans and Demon Deacons square off at 1:30 p.m. PST on Thursday, Nov. 27, on ESPN2. The other two teams in their bracket are Saint Mary's and UTEP, which play at 11 a.m. on ESPNU. The winners meet at 12:30 p.m. on Friday and the losers play at 3 p.m., both on ESPNU. The championship game is Sunday at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN2, following consolation games. The other bracket consists of Arizona State, Charlotte, Baylor and Providence.
This will be Fullerton's first game against an ACC opponent.
Baylor, Fullerton and Saint Mary's participated in last year's NCAA Tournament while Charlotte and Arizona State were in the post-season NIT and UTEP played in the inaugural College Basketball Invitational.
ESPN Regional Television, a subsidiary of ESPN, is staging the tourney for the second year and it is hosted by the Big West Conference. USC won last year's inaugural event while Big West representative UC Irvine went 0-3.
