Scott Waterman Appointed Assistant Coach

June 25, 2008

Fullerton, Calif. -

Scott Waterman returned to the men's basketball coaching ranks today when he was appointed an assistant to Bob Burton at Cal State Fullerton. Waterman served as the Titans' director of basketball operations for the 2007-08 season. He assumes his new duties on July 1.

"I'm excited about the opportunity to get back into a coaching role and help keep Cal State Fullerton at the top of the Big West Conference," said Waterman. He replaces Marlon Morton, who resigned at the end of the season.

Waterman came to Cal State Fullerton last season after a five-year tenure at Long Beach State. He was a full-time assistant for the 49ers in 2006-07 after serving three years as the administrative assistant and one as strength and conditioning coach.

A 2002 graduate of Occidental, Waterman was a summer league coach for six summers at El Toro High School and he has worked at several high-profile collegiate summer camps.

Waterman played three seasons at Occidental and was team captain for two years. In his senior season the Tigers went 18-7 and placed third in the SCIAC. The product of El Toro High School earned his masters degree in kinesiology at Long Beach State in 2004.
