Spurs Retire Bowen's 12
March 22, 2012
San Antonio, Texas - Former Cal State Fullerton forward Bruce Bowen had his jersey No. 12 retired by the San Antonio Spurs at a recent post-game ceremony.
Bowen was one of the most respected defensive players in the NBA
during his 12-yeaer career and he developed into a feared perimeter
shooter, eventually leading the league in 3-point field goal
percentage. He was part of three NBA championship teams in San
Antonio, where he became one of the most popular players for his
work in the community.
Since retiring after the 2008-09 season he has developed a second career as a TV commentator and now wears his trademark bowtie on ESPN.
He returned to CSF and earned his degree. Last year he sponsored a golf tournament to raise funds for summer school for current Titan basketball players.
