Indianapolis, IN - Cal State Fullerton junior guard Josh Akognon has been selected to the All-District 15 second team in a vote of the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Akognon's selection gives the Titans representation on the elite squad for the third year in a row. Bobby Brown made second team in 2006 and first team last season.
This year's first team consists of Kevin Love and Darren Collison of UCLA, Jerryd Bayless of Arizona, James Harden of Arizona State and O.J. Mayo of USC. Joining Akognon on the second team are Alex Harris from UC Santa Barbara, Chase Budinger of Arizona, Justin Hawkins of New Mexico State and Wink Adams of UNLV.
Akognon leads the Titans in scoring at 19.8 points per game. He has broken the school record for 3-point baskets made in a season and currently has a total of 98. He is fourth in the nation in free-throw percentage at .911 and recently tied the school record by making 37 in a row. Akognon is a transfer from Washington State and attended Casa Grande High School in Petaluma, California.
