Irvine, Calif. - Senior forward Scott Cutley today was selected Big West Conference men's basketball player of the week for his role in Cal State Fullerton's victories over UC Davis and Pacific.
The product of Westchester High School averaged 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists while shooting a remarkable 70 percent (19 of 27) from the floor including 4 of 5 3-point field goals. His 24 points vs. Pacific were a season high and his 5 steals against the Tigers were a career best.
It's the second such honor for the transfer from Kent State, who was honored last February. Teammate Frank Robinson was honored two weeks ago.
Fullerton (17-7, 10-3) has won three games in a row and seven of its last eight to move into a virtual tie for first place with Cal State Northridge. The Matadors are 9-2 while the Titans are 10-3 in conference for the first time since 1983.
