Goleta, Calif. - Orlando Johnson and James Nunnally scored career highs with 27 and 25 points, respectively, Saturday night to lead UC Santa Barbara to an 85-80 overtime Big West Conference victory over Cal State Fullerton.
Johnson hit a clutch 3-pointer with 3.4 seconds left in regulation to tie the score at 72 and force overtime in which UCSB (10-7, 5-2) never trailed.
Jer'Vaughn Johnson scored a career-high 20 points for Fullerton (8-10, 3-4), which lost its third in a row despite overcoming a 16-point second half deficit. The Titans only leads of the game were at 70-69 on a 3-point field goal by Devon Peltier and then 72-69 after two Peltier free throws with 19.8 seconds left. Peltier finished with 21 points, matching his career high.
Fullerton plays a non-conference game Tuesday night at Cal State Bakersfield.
