Fullerton controlled the first half and led by as many as 16 points before settling for a 34-23 halftime advantage. UoP shot only 33 precent in the first half and committed 12 turnovers. The Titans led the entire second half but the Tigers twice got the margin down to one point at 38-37 at 16:12 and 45-44 at 11:22. But each time Brown answered with a 3-point field goal.

Fullerton appeared to put the game away when Cutley twice and Marcus Crenshaw once hit consecutive treys for a 68-54 lead with 2:16 to play. But the Tigers responded with back-to-back treys from Vezia and C. J. Morgan and they eventually got within 4 points at 74-70 when Steffan Johnson banked in a desperation 3-pointer from the top of the key with 12 seconds left. Fullerton then turned the ball over but the Tigers missed a shot and CSF's Ray Reed hit a pair of free throws for the final score.

The shooting statistics were remarkably similar for both teams and Pacific's edge on the backboards (38-30) was offset by Fullerton's edge in turnovers (17-11). UoP shot 46 percent from the floor, 42 percent from the 3-point line and 9 of 14 from the foul line.
