Along with Jerard Moret, Gary Nunez should have the most impact among the newcomers to the 2005-06 Titans' basketball team... Classic low-post player who can be dominant on the block... Prolific scorer who has a feel for how to seal off defenders and create shooting angles for himself... Particularly good working over his left shoulder... Tough, physical presence inside... Likely starter at center... Conditioning will be an issue with the Titans' fast tempo.

VENTURA COLLEGE: Was the Most Valuable Player of the North divison of the Western State Conference in 2004-05 for Coach Greg Winslow at Ventura College... First-team all-state selection... Averaged 16.5 points and 8.3 rebounds and shot a sizzling 64.5 percent from the floor... Set school record with 64 percent career field goal percentage... In two years his team went 24-0 in WSC North play... In his final game, he made 15 of 19 shots in a 30-point, 13-rebound performance that left the Pirates just short of the Fresno City team that went on to become the first undefeated state champion in more than 30 years... Hampered as a freshman by a broken hand... Averaged 8.2 points and 4.9 rebounds.

SEWARD PARK HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Seward Park High School in Manhattan... Averaged 16 points and 8 rebounds splitting time between center and power forward... Graduated in 1998.

PERSONAL: Born on Dec. 9, 1980, in the Dominican Republic... Parents are Menocil Rodriguez and Francisca Nunez of the Bronx, New York... Has a brother, Oscar, and four sisters -- Yaquelyn, Youanca, Yudy and Ghneloa... Liberal studies major who hopes to help develop video games as a career... Chose Cal State Fullerton because of the "good coaches and good players"... Most memorable sports thrills have been gaining the Final Eight at Ventura College and an AAU game where he scored 38 points with 12 rebounds and 10 blocked shots... Credits Coach Ruben Dario Martinez for the most influence on his career because "he taught me how to play the game"... Played travel ball for the Latino Pastoral Action Center... Goal is to play for Dominican Republic in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing... Also plays baseball and is an avid New York Yankees fan.
