Along with Gary Nunez, Jerard Moret should have the most impact among the newcomers to the Titans' 2005-06 basketball squad... Mature freshman in every sense of the word... Possesses many desirable intangibles -- coachable, winner and team player come to mind first... "Tough" is the one word that best describes his game... Has the mindset of an excellent defender... Good penetrator and finisher who can absorb contact... In early drills was shooting well... Can score from the perimeter.

WESTCHESTER HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year varsity letterman at a variety of positions for the powerful Westchester High School program of Coach Ed Azzam... Team won state championship in 2003 and 2005... Jerard was a consensus first-team All-Western League selection by the Los Angeles Times and Daily Breeze... As a senior the 25-3 Comets won the league (10-0), city and state championship with him at shooting guard... He averaged 17 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot... As a junior they won the league championship with him at small forward but were banned from the playoffs... As a sophomore they won the league, city and state championshp with him at power forward... As a freshman he played center... Played in the Hoops Classic II and Magic Johnson's Summer All-Star Games.

PERSONAL: Born on June 20, 1987, in Harbor City, California... Mother is Lela Johnson of Los Angeles... Has an older sister, Machae Moret, and a younger sister, Dyniss Johnson... Undeclared major... Chose Cal State Fullerton because it's close to home... Played travel ball with the 4"D" Stars and the L.A. Stars... Credits his mother for the most influence on his career: "because I have seen how hard she has worked to get me where I am now, so I must find a way to repay her."
