CONNORS STATE JC: As a sophomore Orlando averaged 12 points for Connors State JC, which advanced to the NJCAA tourney in each of his two seasons (4th at 28-9 in 2008-09 and did not place at 30-4 in 2009-10)... made Region II all-tourney team as a freshman... team won two Bi-State East Conference championships... also attended Cowley County College in Arkansas City, Kansas. STRINGTOWN HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Stringtown High School and played for Coach Dirk Walden... scored 40 points in the state championship semifinals to advance to the finals... also played two years of baseball as a centerfielder. PERSONAL: Born on May 24, 1989, in McAlester, Oklahoma... first name is Stefan but goes by middle name... parents are Stefan and Christina Brown of Atoka, Oklahoma... has an older brother, Preston, and a younger brother, Eric... Preston was an all-state player at Stringtown HS and went on to play at Redlands and Cowley County Community Colleges and Sam Houston State, averaging 8.6 points as a senior for the Southland Conference champions and NCAA Tournament participants... related to Crystal Robinson, a former Women's National Basketball Association player who played for the Washington Mystics and New York Liberty and grew up in Atoka... NOT related to recent Titan Browns -- Bobby or Jamaal... Orlando is a health care major whose goal is to become a coach and play professionally overseas... enjoys hunting, fishing and video games and listening to country music (country star Reba McEntre is from Stringville and the main street is named after her)... credits his father for most influence on his basketball career: "He has always been there to help me improve and he likes to watch me play." |
