Curtis Battles made great strides during the 2005-06 season and could be a big asset to the undersized Titans in 2006-07... He is a physically imposing player who has worked extremely hard to get into basketball shape... Redshirted in 2004-05 and dropped about 75 pounds... Has good hands and decent offensive moves inside... Fills the lane in the middle of a zone defense... Can be utilized in specialized matchups against other big centers... Has been a crowd favorite.

CSF IN 2005-06: Appeared in 14 of the Titans' 29 games last season, averaging 1.7 points and 1.5 rebounds... Had season high of 7 points at Big 12 opponent Kansas State in only 2 minutes of playing time... Three times grabbed a high of 4 rebounds... Made 10 of 19 shots.

WEST HILLS COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Member of the best Falcons team in 25 years... West Hills (Coalinga, California) went 16-10 overall and 9-5 in conference for Coach Mark Arce... Included in that record was a win over the state's No. 2-ranked team, College of the Sequoias, which fell to 21-2 after a 61-49 loss to the Falcons... Curtis was a two-year letterman... Selected most improved player after his freshman year.

DORSEY HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year varsity letterman at the Los Angeles school... Selected team's most improved player as a senior... Also played one season of varsity football as a tackle.

PERSONAL: Born on Mar. 26, 1984, in Long Beach... Parents are Curtis Battles and Michelle Johnson... Has two brothers, Walter (9) and Isaiha (8 months), and four sisters -- Lakiesha (21), Shanika (16), LaNetta (15) and Bridgette (12)... Criminal justice major... Chose Fullerton "to be part of an up and coming program"... Credits Dorsey Coach A. Kevin Gibson for the most influence on his career.
