FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton men's basketball fell for the first time in Titan Gym this season at the hands of Loyola Marymount by a score of 59-49. The Titans had an off night shooting the ball as the team went 16-46 (34.8%) from the field and 2-19 (10.5%) from distance. Senior guard Kyle Allman, Jr. led the team in scoring with 14 points.
The Lions (9-1) led for 34 minutes during Wednesday's matchup while the Titans (3-6) were in front for just two minutes. CSF turned the ball over 16 times which led to 20 points for LMU. On the other end, the Lions turned it over 14 times but the Titans converted those into just seven points. LMU was led by James Batemon (20 points, four assists) and Mattias Markusson (15 points, six rebounds).
Allman had 14 points (4-16 FGA) and two assists while junior forward Jackson Rowe (10 points, eight rebounds) was the only other Titan in double figures. Junior guard Austen Awosika tallied six points, two rebounds, five assists and a steal.
The squad has three straight road games ahead, starting with a trip to St. Mary's on Monday. The next home game is set for Dec. 29 against the Portland Pilots.
