POSTGAME QUOTES: GAME 6

June 2, 2008

FULLERTON, CA - Quotes from coaches and players following Cal State Fullerton's 4-1 victory over Virginia on Sunday evening at the NCAA Baseball Regionals in Fullerton, CA

CAL STATE FULLERTON HEAD COACH Dave Serrano
"It wasn't perfect, but nothing has been perfect... and we've found a way to win. We've been able to get out of our own way and be successful.

"It doesn't surprise me that UCLA had the tying run at the plate.

"There was fatigue and guys were tired... you saw some sloppiness.

"It's for everything tomorrow.. win and move on or lose and go home. I'm hoping this place is at full capacity and the majority are for the Titans.

(on starting pitcher Monday night):
"I'll have to sleep on that. We will piecemeal it together. Hopefully we have enough bullets to get 27 outs.

(on advantage Monday night):
"I think it (being Fullerton) is a huge advantage. When this stadium is rocking it's toughfor anyone to win here. The game will be played on emotion and momentum."

CAL STATE FULLERTON CATCHER Dustin Garneau
"It was definitely a long day. Coach asked if I could do it. It was definitely tiring and the second game was harder for me.

(on Fullerton's successful playoff history):
"Being around the atmosphere helps. We know what to do when we hit a road block."

CAL STATE FULLERTON THRID BASEMAN Joel Weeks
"It was a big hit. I'd come up earlier with the bases loaded. The first time I thought I made a good pass at the ball.... I just wanted to be more aggressive. I hit a curve ball... it was about a foot fair.

"We came out today with the right attitude to win two games. I think the momentum is huge."
