May 26, 2009

Durham, NC - Cal State Fullerton center fielder Josh Fellhauer (Jr., Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) was named one of 30 semifinalists for the 2009 Golden Spikes Award presented each year by USA Baseball to the nation's top amateur baseball player.

This year will mark the 32nd consecutive year that the award has been presented by USA Baseball. Former Titans Tim Wallach (1979), Phil Nevin (1992) and Mark Kotsay (1995) were all recipients of past awards.

Fellhauer finished the regular season with a .391 average, 5 home runs, 51 RBI and 17 stolen bases to help guide the Titans to a 42-14 regular season finish and a No. 2 national seed in this weekend's NCAA Regional at Goodwin Field.

The list of 30 semifinalists will be narrowed to five finalists on Tuesday, June 2, en route to the announcement of this year's winner on Tuesday, July 14.
