No. 6 Titans Square off With No. 3 Aggies Tonight in College Station

PLAY BALL: Cal State Fullerton (9-2) begins a new week in the middle of an 8-game, 11-day road trip through the south with a midweek match-up against nationally-ranked Texas A&M (11-3). The Titans have won their last eight games and will face an Aggie team that has won five of their last six and 9-of-11 at home this year.

The Aggies are hitting .296 as a team and are led by Caleb Shofner (.500, 3 HR, 11 RBI) and Luke Anders (.315, 3 HR, 15 RBI) at the plate. The Titans will face Aggie right-hander Clayton Ehlert (1-0, 3.65 ERA, 14 K, 12.1 IP) on Tuesday night and will send freshman RHP Noe Ramirez to the bump to counter.

Texas A&M are coming off a 4-1 week after a midweek sweep of Stephen F. Austin (2-1, 8-3) and a series win over Utah (7-2, 0-2, 12-11) last weekend.

VERSUS THE AGGIES: The Titans are 2-2 all-time against Texas A&M dating back to their first meeting in 1983. Titan wins have both come in the post season. The Titans defeated the Aggies 6-3 in the 1988 Mississippi State Regional to advance to the College World Series, and again in Omaha in 1999, 4-2, in the two teams' last meeting. Fullerton lost a two-game series (1-6, 5-7) in its only trip to College Station in 1983.

TITAN TIDBITS: &\#149; The Titans outscored their opponents 44-13 last week &\#149; The Titans out-hit their opponents last week 58-25, including a season-high 22-hit attack on Friday night at Southern Miss. &\#149; The Titans are 5-0 on the road to start off the 2009 season with two wins at San Diego State and three wins at Southern Miss. The Titans were 14-12 on the road in 2008. &\#149; The Titans are now a perfect 6-0 against Southern Miss after two series sweeps in Fullerton and Hattiesburg in 2008 and 2009, respectively. &\#149; Tuesday will mark the Titans' sixth day and fourth game of an 11-day, eight-game road trip through The South.

ON THE ROAD: The Titans are 5-0 on the road this year and are hitting .340 as a team and have an ERA of .240 away from home. Tuesday night's starter Noe Ramirez has 13.0 innings under his belt on the road with two wins and nine strikeouts to his credit. Nick Ramirez (.476), Jared Clark (.471), Josh Fellhauer (.421), Joe Scott (.417) and Khris Davis (.409) all are hitting over .400 away from Goodwin Field.
