Feb. 18, 2011
Long Beach, Calif. - The 2011 college baseball season opener between No. 8 Cal State Fullerton and Long Beach State has been postponed until Mon., Feb. 21 (6:30 p.m.), due to heavy rain in the Southern California area.
With anticipated overnight rains, Cal State Fullerton has also pushed back the start time of tomorrow afternoon's game (Feb. 19) with North Carolina at Goodwin Field to 1 p.m. to allow for extra field preparation. If for any reason that game gets washed out, it will be cancelled entirely.
The Saturday night game (Feb. 19) between the Titans and 49ers in Fullerton, and the Sunday afternoon game in Long Beach are still slated for their normal start times (6 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively). If either of those two games are washed out, they too will be postponed indefinitely.
Right-hander Tyler Pill (0-0) will still start the Saturday afternoon game between the Titans and the Tar Heels. Noe Ramirez (0-0) will start the nightcap. No decision about a Sunday starter for Fullerton has been made.
Regarding tickets, the box office will open one hour prior to game time. Please read the following about Fullerton's rainout policy:
