Fullerton, Calif. - Khris Davis drove in 3 runs bracketing an 11-run third inning, Gary Brown had 3 hits and seniors Jared Clark and Jeff Newman each reached base safely four times in their final home game as Cal State Fullerton wrapped up the regular season Sunday evening with a 15-3 rout of Long Beach State in Big West Conference play.

The No. 4-ranked Titans (42-14, 17-7) will enter post-season play with a 4-game winning streak and a second-place finish in the Big West. Long Beach State fell to 25-29, 11-13 with Andrew Gagnon (3-7), the first of seven 49ers pitchers, taking the loss after 2.2 innings and 6 runs (3 earned).

Fullerton started all six of its seniors and all six scored at least once as the Titans scored their most runs ever against Long Beach State at Goodwin Field.

Tyler Pill (10-3) set a Fullerton freshman record for victories in a season when he was credited with the win after working the first four innings on a "staff" day that featured six different pitchers. He allowed only one run and three hits while walking one and striking out four.

Fullerton broke open a scoreless game with its biggest inning since an 11-run frame vs. Stanford on Feb. 4, 2007.

The Titans sent 14 men to the plate in the third inning as Long Beach's defense contributed to 8 unearned runs. The first five runs scored one at a time in bases loaded situations. They first loaded the bases as Jeff Newman singled to left, Josh Fellhauer was hit by a pitch and Clark walked. Davis' high chopper to short scored Newman before Matt Fahey walked to re-load the bases. Dustin Garneau singled to right to advance everyone a base and make it a 2-0 game. With two out Shevis Shima was hit by a pitch to score Clark and send the 49ers to their bullpen for Josh Corrales. Gary Brown hit a soft liner at shortstop that Kirk Singer failed to catch and then bobbled for an error allowing Fahey to score. Newman walked to force in a run and make it 5-0.

Fellhauer hit a high hopper that second baseman Derek Legg booted for his third error of the series allowing two more runs to score. Fellhauer stole second and he and Newman came home on a single to right by Clark to make it 9-0. Davis then hit his team-leading 12th home run off the scoreboard in left field to complete the scoring and chase Corrales.

Long Beach got on the board in the fourth inning when Taylor Krick singled home Steve Tinoco from second base with two outs. Jonathan Jones led off the fifth with a triple into the left-field corner against reliever Brock Floro and he scored on a double by Singer. Legg knocked in the third 49er run in the seventh.

Long Beach went 0-6 at Goodwin Field this season, also losing a series, 3-0, to UC Santa Barbara in a move necessitated by the brush fires near Santa Barbara.

Fullerton got a 2-run single from Fellhauer in the fourth off David Brown, the third Long Beach State pitcher. Fellhauer and Tony Harkey singled home runs in the sixth.

Fullerton will host one of 16 NCAA Regional Tournaments beginning Friday. The other three teams in its bracket will be announced on ESPN TV at 9:30 a.m. PDT Monday. Long Beach State suffers its first losing season since 1988.
