Fullerton, Calif. - Michael Lorenzen had three hits and got the last out of Tuesday night's non-conference game for his third save of the season as No. 20 Cal State Fullerton blanked visiting San Diego State, 3-0.

The Titans (4-3) won their third in a row as five pitchers combined on a 3-hitter with 10 strikeouts. San Diego State dropped to 3-6.

Lorenzen came in with men on second and third and got Jomel Torres to fly out to left.

Lorenzen got the Titans on the board in the first as he singled and then scored on J.D. Davis' two-out pop fly single. He then singled home Austin Kingsolver with two outs in the fifth to make it 2-0. Matt Chapman's first collegiate hit in the sixth inning drove home Carlos Lopez, who had singled, to cap the Titans' eight-hit attack.

Dave Birosak (1-0) pitched a perfect first inning to get the win on the designated staff day. Dimitri DeLaFuente went 3 scoreless innings, and Tyler Peitzmeier and Willie Kuhl each went 2.1 innings. A two-out error in the ninth by shortstop Keegan Dale and a pinch-hit double by Spencer Thornton brought the tying run to the plate and Lorenzen in from centerfield.

Ryan Doran (0-1) took the loss allowing all three runs in seven hits over 6 innings. Reliever Adam Anawalt pitched the final two frames and allowed just one hit.

Cody Smith, Steven Pallares and Thorton had the hits for San Diego State.

Fullerton will play a 4 p.m. game on Wednesday with visiting Loyola Marymount. Titan righthander Koby Gauna (2-0) will face Lion southpaw Matt Florer in the late afternoon affair.
