TITANS `11: Pre-season All-American pitcher lived up to the billing as a junior • Second-team All-American pick by Collegiate Baseball • Drafted on June 7 (No. 142) in the fouirth round by Boston • First-team All-Big West Conference • Led staff with 8-4 record and starters with 1.69 ERA • Struck out 103 and walked only 20 and allowed opponents to hit only .179 against him • Limited slightly by sore elbow in early season and missed two starts vs. Cal Poly and Pacific (team went 3-3 in those series) due to a sprained ankle suffered in practice • Had really only one inefficient start - 6 R, 4 ER in 7.0 IP in 7-6 loss at LSU on Mar. 11 • Other losses were 4-1 at TCU on Feb. 25 (6.0 IP, 2 ER), 5-4 at CSUN on Ma 27 (6.0 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 7 SO) and 1-0 vs. Stanford in NCAA Regional on June 4 (8 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, career-high 12 K's) • Earned berth on All-Regional Tournament team • Allowed more than 2 earned runs only in LSU game and in 11-3 win (6 IP, 3 ER, 0 BB, 11 SO) over Washington on Mar. 18 • ERA was at season high of 2.91 after win over Washington on Mar. 18 and after that he allowed only 6 ER in 56.2 IP for an 0.95 ERA • Allowed only 1 hit in 8 innings in 2-1 win over USC on Mar. 4 and only 2 hits in 8 innings twice - at Hawaii on March 25 and vs. Long Beach State on May 13 • Allowed only 1 hit in 6 IP of 4-1 win in return start at UC Riverside on May 6.

TEAM USA `10: Became 1 of 19 Titan players that have been chosen to play with USA Baseball's Collegiate National Team in the summer of 2010 • Earned the silver medal at the V FISU World University Baseball Championships in Tokyo, Japan, with Titan teammate Nick Ramirez and USA pitching coach Dave Serrano • Was 0-0 with 5 saves and a 2.70 ERA in a team-high 9 appearances (all in relief) • Struck out 17 and walked just 4 in 13.1 innings of work • Struck out the side in the ninth inning on July 15 against Korea, to log a save and complete a 3-pitcher no-hitter with Vanderbilt's Sonny Gray and TCU's Kyle Winkler.

ALHAMBRA HS: Lettered all 4 years of high school at Alhambra High School in Alhambra, Calif., under Moors' Head Coach Steve Gewecke • Arguably the best player to ever come out of the Almont League, earning 4 first-team all-league honors while leading his team to 4 straight league championships • Posted a career record of 27-7 with an ERA under 2.00 and 298 career strikeouts from the mound • Never hit below .350 in any season at the plate and finished with a whopping .511 average as a senior, setting the school record for most hits (47) and doubles (11) in a season • Collected 147 career hits and averaged 36 hits a season over his career • Was a 2-time Almont League MVP (2008, 2007), and a 4-time All-San Gabriel Valley honoree • CalHi Sports named him Freshman of the Year in 2005.
