Former All-Big West Conference infielder Jason Gill enters his third season as assistant coach for the Titans.

Gill , 36, will reprise his role as the first base and infield coach, while also serving as the team's primary hitting instructor. Publications have taken notice of Gill's behind the scenes work as Fullerton's recruiting coordinator, as his 2007 class has been ranked in the top 10 in the nation by both Collegiate Baseball (8th) and Baseball America (9th).

The former Titan infielder is in his second stint with the Cal State Fullerton staff, having served as a manager on both the 1995 national championship and 1996 squads under then-head coach Augie Garrido.

Before his return to Fullerton, Gill spent three seasons (2002-2004) as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Big West Conference rival UC Irvine, as the coaching staff resurrected the baseball program from extinction. The Anteaters' first recruiting class was ranked 8th in the country by Baseball America with the following two classes among Collegiate Baseball's top 30.

Prior to UCI, Gill was an assistant coach at Loyola Marymount where he helped guide the Lions to WCC titles in 1999 and 2000, earning postseason berths both years. He also served two years as an assistant coach at Nevada (1997-98).

Gill played his senior season (1994) at Cal State Fullerton and hit .345, scoring 28 runs while starting 43 games at third base. That year, the all-conference infielder helped the Titans to a 47-16 overall record and a College World Series berth.

Gill started his collegiate career playing two seasons at Cuesta College and played his junior year at Cal State Dominguez Hills before transferring to Fullerton.

A local product who prepped at Mater Dei H.S. in Santa Ana, Gill received his bachelor's degree from Cal State Fullerton in kinesiology in 1996. He and his wife, Kacey, live in Costa Mesa.
