MERCED COLLEGE: Was a second-team All-Central Valley Conference pitcher for Merced College in the Central Valley in 2008 under Head Coach Chris Pedretti • Posted a 5-5 record with a 2.77 ERA for the Blue Devils, fanning 57 hitters in 81.1 innings pitched in 10 starts and seven relief appearances.

BUHACH COLONY HS: A four-year letterwinner for Head Coach Greg Wakefield at Buhach Colony High School in Atwater, Calif. • Was a four-time All-Valley Oak League selection • Was named the All-Valley Oak Pitcher of the Year both as a junior and a senior (2005 and 2006) • Earned Valley Oak League MVP honors and was first-team All-CIF (San Joaquin Section) as a senior • Went 10-0 with a 0.49 ERA as a senior and was the state leader with 156 strikeouts in 84.2 innings as the Thunder finished with a 25-5 record in 2006 • Went 11-1 with a 1.04 ERA as a junior with 109 strikeouts in 84 innings • Finished his career with a 27-2 record on the mound • Also lettered four years in football and basketball.
