TOKAY H.S.: Lettered for four seasons at Tokay High School (Lodi, Calif.) under Coach Paul Lovotti • Hit .529, .463, and .529 as a sophomore, junior and senior, respectively • He hit 23 home runs over his four-year career highlighted by 13 round-trippers his senior year • Was named the San Joaquin Athletic Association's MVP as a senior • Was a Baseball America and Louisville Slugger All-American, and an all-state honoree as a senior • Was a three-time all-area honoree culminating in his selection as the area's Player of the Year in his final season • He also lettered in Football in the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
