Bickford was selected as one of 27 starting pitchers on the team and one of two selections from the Big West Conference. The award comes a week after the Newbury Park native was named the 2014 Big West Conference Freshman Pitcher of the Year.

He struck out 74 batters in 76 innings of work while allowing just 13 walks on the season. Opponents hit just .232 against Bickford, who was the No. 10 overall selection in the 2013 MLB Draft.
Bickford ranked fourth in the conference and 23rd in the nation with a 5.69 strikeout-to-walk ratio and was part of a Titans pitching staff that ranked No. 1 in the nation in that category. The right-hander also average 8.76 strikeouts per nine innings, ranking fourth in the conference and 70th in the country.
