Gonzales Earns All-Regional XC Honors

Palo Alto, Calif. - Sophomore Grace Gonzales finished 25th to earn All-Regional honors at the 2008 NCAA West Regional Cross Country Championship Meet Saturday on the Stanford Golf Course. The Titans' women's team placed 20th among 30 teams despite the absence of injured Carolyn Ellis. Gonzales' time for the 6K course was 20:45.39. She has a chance to go to the NCAA finals pending at-large qualifications for the Portland State and UC Davis teams which will be determined Monday. Brent Handa ran 82nd to lead the Fullerton men, who placed 23rd among 25 teams. His time for the 8K course was 31:37.70. "Grace ran a really good race and the team did well considering Carolyn's absence," said Head Coach John Elders. "The men have some work to do." |
