Gauchos Top Collegians at Titan Invitational

Fullerton, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara topped all collegians Friday evening in the Titan Invitational when the Gauchos' men won their race and the women finished behind only Cal Coast Track Club.

Mike Powers of UCSB was the second individual to finish the men's race, running the 8K course in 26:22. The winner was Juan Mejia of Cal State San Marcos in 25:49.

In the women's 5K race, Cal Coast took the top three spots in Jenni Johnson (17:26), Julie Swail (17:46) and Christine Appell (17:56). Nicole Blalock of Long Beach State ran fourth to pace all collegiate women.

In the team standings, Cal State San Marcos was second in the men's race with Cal Coast third and UC Irvine fourth. On the women's side, Long Beach State and San Marcos trailed Cal Coast and UCSB.
