Irvine, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton junior Carolyn Ellis (Lake Forest, CA / El Toro HS) was selected the Big West Conference Female Cross Country Runner of the Week for her performance at the Bill Dellinger Invitational Cross Country Meet last Saturday in Eugene, Oregon.

Ellis, who was bothered by a stomach cramp, finished in tenth place in her season's debut and was clocked in 21:10.01 for the 6K course in cool, rainy weather. She had been held out of competition due to a hip injury. The Titans placed seventh among nine teams.

Cal Poly SLO's Daniel Gonia earned the male honors. He ran 21st at the same meet to help his team to a fifth-place finish.
