Men Eighth, Women Tenth at Stanford
Oct. 1, 2006 Palo Alto, Calif. - Jordan Horn finished 13th among the men and Luz Valdez ran 26th among the women to pace Cal State Fullerton runners in the Stanford Invitational Cross Country Meet Saturday afternoon on the Stanford Golf Course. The Fullerton men placed eighth with Damien Nieves (24th), Daniel Alvarez (62nd), David Soto (82nd) and Cory Vaselenko (87) doing the scoring. Horn ran the 8K course in 24:04. The Fullerton women ran tenth with Juliane Masciana (31st), Andrea Aguilar (34th), Amanda Eichmann (36th) and Erika Estrada (67th) placing. Valdez ran the 6K course in 21:58. Host Stanford won both races. The Cardinal women placed 1st, 2nd, 4th, 8th and 9th to dominate the field with UC Irvine running second. The Cardinal men easily outdistanced runnerup UC Santa Barbara by placing 1st, 5th, 9th, 11th and 16th. |
