Men Fifth, Women Sixth at Santa Clara Meet

Sunnyvale, Calif. - Grace Gonzales ran 21st in the women's race and Cory Vaselenko was No. 24 in the men's race Saturday morning as Cal State Fullerton finished sixth and fifth, respectively, at the Santa Clara Invitational Cross Country meet in Sunnyvale.

Gonzales finished in 17:57 and was followed by a pack of Titans as Gail Munoz (18:05), Carolyn Ellis (18:05) and Juliane Masciana (18:06) ran Nos. 26, 27 and 28. Andrea Aguilar was the fifth Titan scorer in 18:12 for 33rd place.

Vaselenko was clocked in 25:27. Teammates trailing him were Jeff Mackay (25:31 for 29th), Brent Handa (25:47 for 43rd), Sergio Tapia (25:2 for 46th) and Sean April (25:53 for 48th).

This was the final major race prior to the Big West Conference championships at San Luis Obispo.
