Fullerton, Calif. - Four home meets -- the first since 2005 -- including a pure "Battle for the O.C." dual meet vs. UC Irvine highlight the finalized Cal State Fullerton 2008 outdoor track and field schedule.
The Titans will host the Anteaters on Apr. 26 to cap the home schedule, which includes a quadrangular meet on Mar. 1, the annual Ben Brown Invitational on March 7-8 and the Big West Challenge also involving UCI, Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara on Apr. 12. All competition is expected to take place on a renovated track and field facility.
"I'm very excited about the dual meet with UCI," said Head Coach John Elders. "We are trying to 'piggyback' on the fact that the Orange County High School Track & Field Championships are the same weekend at Mission Viejo High School.
"We hope to draw some attention to this meet. We hope to emulate the UCLA/USC dual meet with a North OC vs. South OC and CSU vs. UC rivalry."
The Titans also will compete in high-profile invitational meets at Arizona State, Stanford and Mt. Sac. Another regular season scoring meet is the California/Nevada Championships in Fresno.
