Aaron Williams Gains At-Large Berth

Sacramento, Calif. - Titan long jumper Aaron Williams, who finished sixth or one spot shy of an automatic qualifying berth into the NCAA Track and Field Championships, has received an at-large berth to the meet in Sacramento next week.

Williams joins teammate Matt Turner, who finished fifth and qualified automatically at the Regional Meet over the weekend in Provo, Utah. They are seeded Nos. 22 and 23, each with a qualifying jump of 24 feet, 11 inches. Turner also received an at-large berth in the high jump where he qualified with a jump of 7 feet, 2 1/2 inches and is seeded ninth.

The Titans have had representation in the jumping events at the NCAA finals for six consecutive years in high and long jumper Brandon Campbell, pole vaulter Giovanni Lanaro, high jumpers Turner and Jonathan Golden and long jumper Kurt Weber.
