Harris Finishes 14th in Decathlon

Irvine, Calif. - Cal State Fullerton senior Kenten Harris placed 14th in the men's decathlon while the Titans' Heather Leidl did not finish in the women's heptathlon which was completed Saturday on the opening weekend of the Big West Conference Track and Field Championships at UC Irvine.

Harris totaled 5,615 points. His best events were on the track -- 715 points for an 11.68 in the 100 meters and 670 points for 53.28 in the 400. His weakest event was the pole vault where he received 333 points for a height of 9 feet, 6 1/4 inches.

Leidl did not run the 800 meters after completing six events. Her best effort was 703 points for a 27.11 in the 200 meters.

Cal Poly's James Nunno won the decathlon with 7,208 points. He also was the 2007 titlist. Cal State Northridge's Sherrina Lofton won the heptathlon with 5,224 points.

The individual events and relays of the track championships will be contested May 15 and 16 at UCI.
